Primary Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain relationships with local cybersecurity community
• Coordinate with other security organizations and groups in the region
• Represent BSides Charlotte at community events and meetups
• Develop partnerships with educational institutions and training programs
• Foster diversity and inclusion initiatives
• Engage with regional BSides chapters and security conferences

Key Activities:

• Attend local security meetups and conferences
• Organize or participate in community events between BSides Charlotte conferences
• Coordinate speaker submissions from diverse backgrounds
• Build relationships with local universities and technical schools
• Maintain communication channels with community members
• Promote BSides Charlotte mission and values in the community

Skills Required:

• Strong networking and relationship-building abilities
• Public speaking and representation skills
• Knowledge of local cybersecurity community
• Passion for community development
• Cultural competency and commitment to diversity

Time Commitment:

• Varies by role and proximity to events
• Expect increased time commitment as events approach
• Most year-round roles: 2 – 5 hours per week
• Event days typically require full-day commitment
