Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement conference network infrastructure
  • Provide WiFi access for attendees
  • Set up Network Operations Center (NOC) if applicable
  • Provide technical support for conference systems

Key Activities:

  • Coordinate with venue on internet connectivity
  • Set up wireless access points and network equipment
  • Monitor network performance during event
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • Support registration systems and technical infrastructure
  • Provide technical assistance to staff and attendees
  • Document network configuration and issues

Skills Required:

  • Networking knowledge and experience
  • Troubleshooting abilities
  • Wireless infrastructure setup
  • Security awareness
  • Customer service orientation

Time Commitment:

  • Varies by role and proximity to events
  • Expect increased time commitment as events approach
  • Conference roles ramp up significantly 1 – 2 months before the event
  • Event days typically require full-day commitment
