Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure physical safety and security of attendees, staff, and venue
- Develop and communicate safety procedures
- Coordinate with venue security
- Handle incidents or emergencies
Key Activities:
- Develop emergency response procedures
- Coordinate with venue on safety requirements and emergency exits
- Brief staff on safety protocols
- Monitor event for safety concerns
- Serve as point of contact for incidents
- Coordinate with local authorities if needed
- Maintain incident reports
- Ensure Code of Conduct is communicated and enforced
Skills Required:
- Security or safety background
- Crisis management abilities
- Calm demeanor under pressure
- Clear communication
- Situational awareness
Time Commitment:
- Varies by role and proximity to events
- Expect increased time commitment as events approach
- Conference roles ramp up significantly 1 – 2 months before the event
- Event days typically require full-day commitment
