Communications & Press Manager


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all communications channels and messaging
  • Manage relationships with media and press
  • Coordinate communications strategy with marketing activities
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all platforms
  • Lead the website, social media, and marketing teams
  • Handle press inquiries and media relations

Key Activities:

  • Develop communications calendar and content strategy
  • Draft and distribute press releases
  • Coordinate interviews and media appearances
  • Oversee website content and updates through Website Lead
  • Review and approve all external communications
  • Manage crisis communications if needed
  • Track media coverage and communications metrics

Skills Required:

  • Excellent writing and editing abilities
  • Media relations experience
  • Strategic communications planning
  • Brand management understanding
  • Leadership and team coordination

Time Commitment:

  • Varies by role and proximity to events
  • Expect increased time commitment as events approach
  • Most year-round roles: 2 – 5 hours per week
  • Event days typically require full-day commitment
