“Sponsor an Attendee” Program

Our Philosophy

BSides Charlotte is built on the foundation of community, education, and accessibility. We believe that financial barriers should never prevent a motivated individual from learning, networking, and growing within the information security field.

Whether you are a student, a veteran, or someone transitioning into a new career, we want you in the room!

How it Works

Through the generosity of our community and sponsors, we provide a limited number of Sponsored Passes to those who cannot currently afford the cost of a ticket.

To ensure the process is as fair as possible:
Eligibility: Open to students, job seekers, career changers, and those in entry-level roles without employer training budgets.
Selection: Instead of a traditional “merit” review, awardees will be selected via a randomized lottery. This allows us to support as many people as possible without bias.
Review: Applications are reviewed briefly only to ensure the validity of the request and to ensure no PII was included.

Important Security Notice

We are a security conference—let’s practice what we preach!
Do not include any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or sensitive financial documents (e.g., SSNs, bank statements, or tax returns) in your application. A simple, text-based explanation of your situation is all we need. The inclusion of any PII or sensitive data will result in the immediate deletion of your application and disqualification from the lottery.
